Founder and Head Coach

Andrew Leckonby

Andrew comes from Australia and is an Accredited Level One Cricket Coach and Umpire.
He is also an experienced junior Football Coach, having coached at ‘Buda Juniors International Football Club' (link) since helping establish that club in 2001.
A qualified and experienced teacher/childcarer, Andrew was joint founder of Budapest’s ‘A-Z International Centre for Children’, which he directed from 2002 to 2009.
Andrew speaks English and Hungarian (relatively) fluently.
As a cricketer, Andrew played his first official match at the age of 7, and quickly established a lifelong love of the game. In 2007 Andrew was one of the founding members of the Hungarian Cricket Association (link) and continues to work on the HCA Board (as the ‘Cricket Development Director’).
Andrew leads the Baggy Blues Cricket Club, which he founded in 2007 (link), and is the Captain of the Hungarian National Cricket Team, which he captained to their memorable victory in the Euro Twenty20 tournament in Macedonia in July 2010 (link). This victory was recently followed up with a successful defence of the title here in Hungary at the brand new GB Oval. Hungary defended the title in style, remaining undefeated throughout the 2011 tournament (link).


Senior Coach

Khaibar Deldar

Khaibar comes from Afghanistan and fluently speaks English, Hungarian, Hindi, Urdu, Pashto, and Dari-Farsi.
Khaibar is a leading member of the Budapest Falcons Cricket Club, and played a significant role in that club becoming the 2010 and now also the 2011 Champions of the Hungarian Cricket League.
Khaibar made his Hungarian National Team debut at the 2011 ET20, excelling with bat and ball throughout the tournament.
Khaibar began coaching with Bat and Ball in 2010 and instantly proved to be a natural coach, popular with the children throughout the club. He will now assume the role of ‘Senior Coach’.




Sidd Ahmed

Sidd comes from India, speaks English, Hindi, and Urdu, and is a senior player for Phoenix CC in the HCL.
Sidd commenced coaching for Bat and Ball in Spring 2011, and has proven to be an invaluable addition to the Bat and Ball Coaching team.
Sidd is studying medicine and plans to be a Pediatrician, so his natural talents with children should be put to use for many years to come!
